Absa Cape Epic 2009 -
done and dusted
The
Cape Epic 2009 kicked off with a brutal day despite
not starting in the traditional Knysna location. The
race with its all new format with shorter stages and
fewer days of more technical riding was by all
accounts another success. The racing upfront was
hard and exciting and the stories from the
backmarkers long and telling. Never easy it was as
always epic and the demand for one of the most
challenging races around remains a high as ever. If
you are considering entering and need help then

Absa Cape
Epic 2009 - Route Changes
The
Cape Epic 2009 dropped a little bombshell on the
mountain biking community with their announcement of a
changed start venue. No more Knysna pilgrimage and
returning home via the mountains. Some cried foul, but
don't loose hope, because this is what the Epic does
best, push your limits and go where you never knew you
could. Cape Epic innovation is as much part of
the race and the long dusty trails that it takes
riders on. If you have entered and need help then visit our
Cape Epic Resources
page. For some

Absa Cape Epic 2008 has passed and left many battered
and bruised bodies and egos after the toughest event
ever. Searing heat, long distances and tough technical
sections took their toll. There were no easy days and
no rest days, it was epic - the way it should be. As
expected it got bigger and better, most notably the
media coverage every where you looked, TV, newspapers,
magazines, youtube, blogs and websites. Regular riders

Bulls win Absa Cape Epic
2007
The 2007 Absa
Cape Epic was the best event yet for many reasons, but probably
the best one was the intense competition at the front of the
field. A combination of a varied and taxing route with the
best riders in the world made sure that this race was like no
other. The racing upfront was just amazing and it is something
that many had wished for in past years. Read

Top Riders at the Absa Cape Epic
2007
Arguably
one of the biggest features of the Cape Epic is the fact that
everyday MTBers get to ride alongside the best mountainbikers in
the world. The 2007 race is no different with a record-breaking
total of over forty World Cup wins amongst the top riders
participating in the Absa Cape Epic. Names like Christoph Sauser,
Thomas Frischknecht, Ralph Naef and Bart Brentjens will be filling
the leader board along with our own local heros Mannie Heymans,
Kevin Evans, Ben Melt Swanepoel and Brandon Stewart from the MTN
Raleigh mountain bike team. Find out more about these
